Description:
Mother Osprey circles choppy bay waters searching for food, her diet consists almost exclusively of fish. This Osprey resides along the Maine shore protecting the nearby nest containing chicks, warding off any intruders bold enough to draw too near (including nosy artists). The Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), also known colloquially as a seahawk is the only raptor whose outer toe is reversible, allowing it to grasp its prey with two toes in front. One of the largest birds of prey in North America, the Osprey is also one of the most widespread birds in the world, found on all continents except Antarctica.

This is very nice. Something about it reminds me of the artwork of Louis Agassiz Fuertes.
